  • Safety Tips for Chore Posters
    • When getting a Provider to complete your chores, being aware of the following tips will help you get your chores done quick and easy
    • It's important for safety not to disclose your personal info like your full name, address or phone number when you post a chore or comment on the first message which goes out to all providers signed up to receive your chore in their inbox.
    • Once you've chosen a Provider to complete your chore, you may need to share more information or discuss private messages however you should try to communicate through the Goferly private messaging - that way, if anything needs to be sorted in the interest of trust and safety, it's all there in writing and we can take up the cause on your behalf for any foul play.
    • Remember, any communication outside of the Goferly Platform is not our responsibility. So make sure you use Goferly.com from Start - Finish of your chore to ensure we have your back at all times!
    • Ask for more profile pictures if you want to check the authenticity of a user you're about to work with.
    • Don't be shy to ask your Gofer to show his /her driver's license or any other form of ID before commencing the chore. If you are getting a trade related chore done, ask for a trade license ID or proper permits / insurance before you assign the job.
    • Don't pay the Goferly for your chore until it has been completed and you are satisfied. If you are ever in a situation where you are not satisfied with the job, try to work with the Provider to sort it out first, but if you need to take further action, you can always contact us.
    • Always use the secure Goferly.com Platform to pay via PayPal. Ensure you are in agreement with the final price of the project as quoted by the provider.
    • Include any Tips, out of pocket expenses, material cost etc. in the Total cost of the project before assigning the chore to the provider, and pay this in full through the secure PayPal channel. This will avoid any haggling, discrepancies and disputes in the future.
    • If you ever feel uncomfortable with another user at any stage in the process, you should let us know. If at any time you feel in danger you should always call emergency 911.
    • Please be free to e-mail us at admin@goferly.com, if you come across any type of harassment, undue suffering or harm by any of the users and we will look into this a.s.a.p. and take proper action immediately.
  • How do I assign a Goferly Provider to my chore?
    • Just like any other web based platform, we ask you to provide an e-mail id which will be used to receive any bids (in addition to your Dashboard page) and requests.
    • Personal details such as phone numbers - mobile & landline, addresses and emails should only be used when you are comfortable with each other and through the Goferly Platform for Safety purposes.
    • Once a chore is assigned users will be able to private message each other and share more specific details including personal contacts.
    • For more information on what to avoid to breach Goferly Rules please check our Code of Conduct
  • What happens if my chore is overdue?
    • Your goal should be to complete the chore. If a chore is overdue the best procedure is to
    • Reach out to the other Gofers who bid on your chore via the private messaging on our website. We're sure they will be glad to take your job from their competitors!
    • Arrange for the chore to be completed at a later date by extending timelines.
    • If the chore can't be completed at all and /or you haven't received any bid, you can either leave it there and wait for someone to bid on it or in better cases, copy and paste into a new chore and change the price offered or other details of the chore to make it more enticing to the providers to bid on.
  • How do I send a private message?
    • The requester does not have an option to make 'first contact' with a provider unless until you have worked with them before.
    • Why do we do this? It is done to help you get the best bid for your chore. You never know who you may find by keeping your options open and the price they are willing to come down to.
    • You can only send private messages between the sender and the provider once the provider has bid on your job and /or the chore is assigned. Private messages cannot be sent directly to a gofer without them bidding on your request first.
  • Why is my chore overdue?
    • Overdue chores are those which have passed the deadline date that was given by the Chore Poster and the Gofer has not yet completed/marked your chore as complete.
    • As a Chore Poster, make sure that your assigned Gofer completes the chore on time. If your chore is overdue you can use private messaging to follow up with the assigned Gofer
  • What is the best way to ensure my chore gets done?
    • Start by providing as much information as possible about the chore you need done and offer a price that is fair for the job.
    • To get the best price and the best provider for your job, give the providers at least 24 hours to bid on your job and increase price competitiveness.
    • Be in touch with them through our message boards as the time of completion date nears. It is always good to follow up with them through the Goferly.com message board to ensure records, in case of any disputes, misunderstandings etc.
  • What happens if no one offers to help me with my chore?
    • The more people that see your chore, the more offers you're likely to receive.
    • We are there to help you 'get your word' out there! As soon as you post your chore, it goes LIVE! By this we mean, many (sometimes 1000's) of interested providers will see your chore posted and the price bucket you are willing to stay in.
    • You do not need to do anything from this point on, till you receive a bid! Sit back and relax!
    • Try not to give a few hours' notice on your chore completion; the minimum you can post is 24 hours to completion time.
    • If you still haven't heard back from anyone then review your chore post and check that you've provided as much info as possible about the what you need done and make sure that you've offered a price that is fair for the job.
  • What happens if multiple Goferlys offer to complete my chore?
    • Looks like your posted chore is gaining popularity among the Gofers! Congratulations- You know exactly what you want and are willing to pay a fair price!
    • You can now assess each Gofers profile page and look for various positive indicators such as their Background Verification Banner (this is optional for providers to get); their 'Goferability Index' i.e. the stars on their profile (5 stars being the maximum) and their proficiencies i.e. job categories they are best suited at.
    • Assign the most suitable person to your chore. If you need to know more about each person, ask them in the comment section, just be mindful not to ask for any private details, links that contain their details or 3rd party links with personal information.
    • As always use your best judgment to deal with them, as you interact with them during the course of the completion of the chore.
  • What do I do with expired chores?
    • A chore will expire and will sit there in your list under the "My Dashboard" page even after deadline date is passed and the chore has not been assigned to an Gofer. You can also re-post your chore to find another Gofer in the meantime. All you have to do is to either extend the date or copy the chore onto a new one and repost! However you will need to check the date and locations are still correct. When reposting a chore please consider your Title, description and pricing as this could help you to get more offers on your chore this time around.
  • What happens if the Goferly (Gofer) is no longer able to complete the chore?
    • We suggest to first of all, finding an alternative solution with the Gofer. Perhaps the date of completion can be changed or the requirements of the chore can be tweaked.
    • If no alternative solution can be found, the please follow these steps:
    • Tell the Gofer via Goferly Private Messages that you are going to cancel the chore
    • DO NOT click on 'Complete' on your chore, since payments are not made till you click on 'Complete'.
    • We would suggest you Re-post your chore to get new bidders and providers to look at your chore.
    • Make sure to provide your feedback for this gofer and let others know about this.
  • How do I know how much to pay for a chore?
    • Goferly is an open marketplace so you will generally get a few offers to choose from based on the chore budget you specify. There are no strict rules but the more fairly you price your chore, the better your chances of finding the best Goferly for your job.
    • As a starting point,
    • Think of how much time it might take the Goferly to do the chore and what a fair hourly rate might be given the difficulty of the chore. A $10-20 per hour rate is a good starting point and you could receive offers lower or higher than this depending on the providers skills
    • You can also look at other similar chores under the Pricing Guidelines before making your offer.
    • In addition it might be helpful to enter the hourly rate that you want to pay the Gofer.
    • Ensure you negotiate for any extra fees, tips, equipment costs etc. before hand and pay the entire sum through our platform to ensure safety and timeliness of payments.
  • How do I edit or cancel my Chore?
    • If you would like to cancel a chore that has been assigned, please follow the steps below:
    • Message the Chore Poster/Gofer via Goferly Private messaging that you will have to cancel the chore as it was not completed and thus needs to be cancelled.
    • Extend the time or price of it if deemed necessary.
    • Click on 'Cancel' button to ensure the chore is not Live anymore.
    • If the chore has not been assigned, you can easily update your chore once it has been posted, by following the below Quick Steps:
    • 1. Please log in to Goferly from a web browser and go to your Dashboard.
