  • How do I bid/offer to do a chore?
    • It's easy to make offers on a chore, simply 'Search' on open chores by using various filters on the 'Search Chores' page.
    • Once you have found a chore which suits you and your price bucket, click on the chore and input bid price as a flat rate for the entire project or an hourly rate you are willing to charge to the requester.
    • You can input comments about yourself or your expertise and open up the communication channel between you and the requester. Please don't forget to hit the 'Submit' button once you've done all this.
    • Please make sure you can complete the chore before you confirm your offer as you can't cancel a job once your offer has been accepted
    • You are in complete control of how much you think your offer should be worth; just make sure that your offers are fair. Happy Bidding!
  • How do I send a private message?
    • You can send a private message to the requester instantly with your bid price and description. Just keep it to the point and related to the job at hand.
    • You can ask or answer any questions directly on the chore by leaving your comment.
    • Once the requester had chosen you, we encourage you to then communicate in more detail about the chore e.g. exchange personal details such as phone numbers, delivery addresses, etc.
  • Why is there a Pending or Pre-authorization charge on my Credit Card?
    • When you use Goferly for the first time you'll need to add your credit card to pay the Goferly fees. These fees are only charged if you are assigned to a chore, however for us to initially verify your credit card we perform a 'Pre-authorization' on your card the very first time you make an offer (a total of $1.00 is pre-authorized).
    • Don't worry, this never takes any funds out of your card but simply puts these funds in a holding state in your account. The funds are then automatically released to you within 3-7 days, depending on your credit card provider who is in complete control of releasing those funds.
    • We perform the pre-authorization purely as a verification check to ensure a minimum level of verification for service providers on the platform. This way we can maintain a safer environment for all users and you can get the most out of Goferly.
  • Safety Tips for Providers Completing a Chore
    • When completing a chore on Goferly, here are a few tips you can follow to make you get the most out of the Goferly platform
    • Before you commit to running a chore, ask as many questions as you need to ensure that you can meet expectations and earn positive reviews.
    • When first meeting, try to meet people in a public place like a busy street, office or cafe before going elsewhere.
    • Upload extra photos on your profile and choose photos that clearly show your face. This lets people know you are happy to show who you are and that you're a trustworthy person!
    • Always let someone else know when you are running a chore and where you'll be. Remember to keep in touch and stay contactable on your mobile.
    • If you feel unsafe about the chore you are about to do or the place that you have to go to give us a call and if you ever feel like you are in danger call emergency 911.
    • If you have had a bad experience with a requester for e.g. change in demands in the last minute, hostility towards you when you meet or over the phone or any other forms of harassment, please e-mail us at admin@goferly.com and we will assist you in resolving this matter amicably with the requester.
  • What happens if I can no longer complete the Chore?
    • Please inform the Chore Requester ASAP PRIOR to the chore start time/date via the Goferly Private Message and let them know to make other arrangements or extend the completion time in order to better fit your changing schedule.

If for any reason you have to cancel a chore, at the discretion of the chore poster they may record this cancellation on your public Goferly profile, which cannot be changed once recorded and your ratings fall in view of others.

    • Overdue chores are those which have passed the deadline date that was given by the Chore Poster.
