When do you charge the Goferly fee?
-
The Goferly fee will be charged if you are assigned to a chore and is usually 20% of the chore amount (the fee is not charged on any extra expense incurred during the chore). Once your bid offer has been accepted for a chore you will be liable to pay the fee however to make it easy for the users, we've chosen to only charge the fee once the chore is complete or the chore has passed the deadline.
- How does Goferly make money?
-
Goferly doesn't charge any money for posting a Chore or bidding on one. Once a Chore has been completed or passes the chore deadline a 20% fee is charged to the Gofer to keep the day to day operations at Goferly going. This keeps us running so we can improve the platform even further and make it even more user friendly to you - The customer.
- When I meet a provider (Gofer), how do I know they are who they say they are?
-
When you're connecting with someone on Goferly the first time, remember to always check their background check verification banner, other user provided reviews and the stars they have on their profile and references of the person you assign to complete your Chore.
-
In addition to that you should always try to meet in a public place, like a busy street, a coffee shop or outside your house when meeting prior to the chore. Then, feel free to ask the Gofer for any identification and make sure it matches the details you've seen on their Goferly profile.
-
If you feel something isn't right, excuse yourself and let us know what happened. Please be free to provide feedback about your experiences with that provider, so it can help others in the future.

- How can I make sure the Goferly will do a good job?
-
Communicating your requirements and expectations clearly in your chore description is the most important aspect of getting your chore completed at a level that meets your expectations. It will also allow bidders to offer the correctly size the project and offer bids on your chore
-
Try to keep the Headline of the Chore to less than 12 words at the most. You want your Title of the Chore to be precise and succinct.
-
When you're posting a chore think about all the information that a provider might need. For example, if you're asking someone to help paint your fence, and then ask yourself - How long is the fence? Will the Gofer need to sand the fence? How many coats of paint will it need? Does he need to buy paint and materials? If yes, be explicit on your body of the chore message.
-
Once you have provided all relevant information, please make sure that you check the reviews and references of the Gofers bidding on your chore. This can help you make the best decision on whom to assign your chore.
-
Remember posting a chore is for ABSOLUTLY FREE and you don't lose anything by delegating some work and enjoying some quality time doing things which are more important to you!
- Can users contact each other before the chore is assigned?
-
Absolutely, whether you're a provider a.k.a gofer or a Chore Poster, getting things done requires communication!
-
Once you post your chore, all the providers who have chosen to receive alerts in their inbox based on their chore categories will be able to view your chore.
-
The providers have a chance to see your request and bid on your chore with their price point and put in comments to enhance their services provided and provide more detail to their specific skill set.
-
Once you assign an a chore, you a requester can then communicate through private messages to discuss more details around your chore such as locations, private contact details, details of the chore etc.
- How do I send a private message?
-
As a provider you can bid on a posted chore and send 1 private message to the requester initially with your bid price. If your bid is accepted or the requester likes your offer and wants to reach out to you, they can do so through the private message boards b/w them and you.
-
The requester does not have an option to make 'first contact' with a provider unless until you have worked with them before.
-
We have enabled this private message board format for your use till the end of the chore and even later if you wish to reach out to your favorite gofer for future work.
