Billing and Payments

  • I haven't been paid for my chore, what steps can I take
    • Payment occurs directly between the Chore Poster and the Providers of the service; however in rare cases a payment may not be completed or be in dispute. In these cases, payment terms should be negotiated directly between each other in order to work towards a compromise.
    • In the case where a chore remains unpaid, this may result in the chore being cancelled and the chore poster subsequently being removed from the platform for non-payment. Please contact support for assistance in cancelling the chore if this is the case
    • Further recourse regarding payment collection may be referred to the Small Claims court of your relevant state should you wish to pursue further.
  • I've Paid/been paid already but my chores says Pay Now/Request Payment
    • You can 'Mark a chore as Complete'
    • As a worker, if you have already received payment and the chore has not yet updated, to make it simple we allow you to mark your chore as paid any time you wish. Simply click on the Chore details and confirm 'Mark as Complete'.
    • If you are the chore poster and you've already sent payment, you can also let your worker know via private message to confirm payment.
  • Why can't I add my credit card?
    • When paying for the Goferly Fees we accept both Credit Cards and Debit Cards, but only VISA and MasterCard. If your card is not working, to avoid common cases where your card is not being accepted please make sure of the following:
    • Check that your card is not expired
    • Enter your name as it appears on your card without the Mr./Mrs./Ms.
    • Double check when entering your card number as it can be easy to enter the numbers wrong
    • Check with your credit institution that your card is activated (if new)
    • If all the above fails, please do not hesitate to contact us via the admin@goferly.com e-mail address.
  • Can I pay the Provider/Gofer based on an hourly rate?
    • A chore on Goferly needs a clear scope in terms of time and skill requirements and there are 2 options provided to set the scope of work 1) Flat fee 2) Hourly Rate.
    • The flat fee is pretty straightforward, once the requesters and providers are comfortable with the price and the chore is marked as 'complete', this amount will be debited from the requester's credit card / PayPal account and credited into the providers PayPal account.
    • The hourly rate will need to be further expanded into the scope of work and time taken to the work. For example - if it costs $10 / hour to do the chore and it takes 4 hours to do it, the total amount should be set at $40 (excluding any tips, equipment cost etc.)
    • When posting a chore you will be able to calculate the total price based on an hourly rate. If you need any further guidance on pricing please let us know anytime.
  • Why are there payment delays when paying with PayPal?
    • You may see two types of payment alerts on your chore:
    • Payment Pending
    • A transaction made on PayPal can typically take a few days to transfer and we suggest you allow up to 3 business days for a PayPal payment to go through. However you should log into your PayPal account to check the status of the transaction and we will update the chore as soon as a notification has been received from PayPal that the payment is complete.
    • Awaiting Payment
    • As a provider you have sent an invoice request to the chore poster. When you see this message the poster has either paid on PayPal and the payment is still processing, or the poster has not yet paid needs to complete the payment to you on PayPal. In both cases we suggest checking back in a day or two and then private message the chore poster to check whether they have completed payment on PayPal
    • You can 'Mark a chore as Complete'
    • As a worker, if you have already received payment and the chore has not yet updated, to make it simple we allow you to mark your chore as complete any time you wish.
    • If you are the chore poster and you've already sent payment, you can also let your worker know via private message to confirm payment.
  • My credit card payment didn't go through
    • Make sure you entered your credit card details correctly. You can add and update those anytime under https://www.Goferly.com/My account/Payment Account. Please check with your bank, if the issue should persist.
  • Are my payment details protected?
    • Our payment system is secure, reliable, and convenient, supporting many currencies and facilitating both cash and PayPal payments. All the data is safely encrypted to ensure your privacy. Your data is been protected to the highest standards.
  • Will I be issued an invoice for the work completed?
    • We are unable to provide tax advice. As the Providers / Gofers are not employees of Goferly we suggest contacting assigned Goferlys directly to coordinate any invoice requirements you might have.
  • When do you charge the Goferly fee?
    • Once your offer has been accepted for a chore you will be liable for the Goferly fee. However to make it easy for the provider we only charge the fee once the chore is complete or the chore has passed the deadline.
    • Please remember that the fee will also be charged if the chore has been overdue for more than a fortnight. So if the chore can't be completed in the due time then ask for an extension of the date and or request the chore to be cancelled.
  • What payment options are there to pay Goferly fees?
    • When you bid on a chore, you'll be asked for your credit or debit card details and we'll only charge you a small fee if you're assigned to the chore and you have completed the chore.
    • There are absolutely no fees charged for simply placing a bid.
  • I am a Chore Poster: What payment options do I have to pay a Gofer?
    • You can currently pay the provider/ gofer through Goferly's safe and secure PayPal system. It is really easy to set up a PayPal account and you can even add extra expenses to the chore price for purchases etc.
    • Please do not use cash or payment in person, since this can lead to disputes and price haggling, which are outside of the company's jurisdiction and hard to resolve.
    • So when you're posting a chore, just choose which payment option you're going to use so the Goferly knows what to expect.
  • A Chore was paid via PayPal, but I didn't receive the full amount!
    • Chores that are paid by PayPal will also incur minimal PayPal's standard fees for receiving funds (usually 2.9% of the price charged). The amount you receive in your PayPal account will typically be the chore amount minus PayPal's fee's + Goferly fees
  • How do I receive my payment for completing a Chore?
    • Each chore posted will specify how the Chore Poster intends to pay – online using PayPal.
    • Online payment will be issued once the chore is marked completed by you.
  • How much does it cost to post a Chore?
    • ABSOLUTELY FREE! – It's totally free to post for you! The Gofer will be charged a small amount once he / she have completed your chore.
    • The Goferly Fees DOES NOT come out of the Requesters overall price but from the Providers total price paid.
  • How much does it cost to bid on a Chore?
    • ABSOLUTELY FREE!!! – It's totally free to bid on a chore. When you bid on a chore, you'll be asked for your credit or debit card details and we'll only charge you a fee of 20% of the accepted offer if you're assigned to the chore and have completed the chore.
    • Being assigned to a chore does not incur any cost!! The 20% + any applicable PayPal fees (usually 2.9%) will be deducted at source, so keep that in mind when bidding, with your bottom line in mind.
  • How do I reimburse a Provider for out of pocket expenses?
    • Always be set in price before a deal of services provided is reached between a requester and provider.
    • Please ensure that you have captured all the added costs (if any) such as Tips, Tolls, Equipment cost etc. in your final agreed upon price.
    • Paying with PayPal is the easiest way to pay and get paid, just mark the chore as complete from both sides i.e. both the requester and provider have to mark the chore as 'complete' in order for money to change hands through our secure PayPal system.
    • If in case you have missed out on awarding some extra incentives to your providers after the initial payment is done, you can always transfer more funds through the PayPal system to the providers if needed.
  • Are there any fees in addition to the Chore price?
    • The great news is: NO! - The price that you offer when you post a chore is what you'll need to pay once it gets done. Enjoy posting!
